Peñas Blancas Nature Safari Float Trip – Nature lovers can enjoy a 2 hour safari style float trip down the lower Peñas Blancas River

Our pace allows you to enjoy the tranquility of the rainforest soaking in all the sights and sounds of this tropical setting

Our expert bilingual guides will give descriptions of the areas plant and animal species en route while keeping an eye open for Monkeys, Toucans, Jesus Christ Lizards, caimans, iguanas and a wide assortment of bird species. We end with a visit to a local farm for some typical costa rican snacks and a chat with the local owner

Schedule: Tour departs daily at 7:30am and returns at 1:30pm

Tour includes: Transportation to and from most La Fortuna hotels, bilingual certified guides, fruit and snacks on the river, Fresh Tropical fruit Ice cold drinks.

DONA MARA TORTILLA MAKING  AND LUNCH ADD ON – This tour can be done on its own or as an add on to another tour.

Your clients will have an authentic cultural experience with a local family, Doña Mara’s family. Doña Mara and her husband welcome them with a tropical drink (pineapple, orange, coconut water) at her “rancho” (like a gazebo) where she prepares a delicious typical lunch on her rustic wood-fired stove. While lunch is cooking, the travelers are offered to try their hand at making tortillas out of the fresh ground corn masa.   Doña Mara shows her guests how to flatten the dough into perfect circles ready for cooking. The tortillas are served with lunch to top off the afternoon.  They will have the opportunity to practice Spanish, and learn about the Costa Rican Culture while eating lunch with the family.
