High season in Costa Rica is December 15 through April, when tourists are assured of perpetual sunshine. November is a transition month, the rains have stopped or stopping and the winds do not begin for another month, Seas are flat calm, the water is warm and rivers are full of water making for exciting white water river rafting.
November is considered to be in the “green season”. Adventurers who opt to visit during the “green season” are rewarded with the most magnificent flora and fauna, and smaller crowds. Lodging rates drop substantially, from 30 percent to 50 percent off high season rates.
