What to Expect


Manuel Antonio is known for its white-sand beaches and National Park. Cruise through the mangroves where you might spot howler and white-faced capuchin monkeys or even an adorable, fuzzy pygmy anteater. Along the trails as you head to the waterfalls you will learn about medicinal uses handed down through the years that are still being used by locals in the region today. The night tour offers an opportunity to see the nocturnal red-eyed ruby tree frogs and other reptiles at the wildlife refuge. Many species of butterflies call Costa Rica home and you will see many varieties of them here, too.

Manuel Antonio National Park is by far the most popular in Costa Rica. The Pacific Coastline offers breathtaking vistas and turquoise waters that seem to go on forever. It is a favorite area for honeymoon couples, but because of the diverse and prolific wildlife and moderate hiking at sea level, it is popular for families and groups of all ages.

What to expect:

Itinerary

Day 1 (Arrival / San Jose Airport): Arrive by air into San Jose International* airport. Although not included we can arrange for one of our representatives to meet you outside customs and welcome you to Costa Rica. We purposely leave the transfer out in case you would like to rent a vehicle and drive yourself. Hotel overlooks Manuel Antonio’s white-sand beaches and the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 2: Relax on Beach and explore the grounds. The Hotel is three hundred yards from the beach and Manuel Antonio National Park and features two cliff-side pools with sundecks.

Day 3: 7 AM pickup for visit to Manuel Antonio National Park one of the best parks in the country and known for its abundance of wildlife – lots of monkeys, birds and an occasional sloth or pygmy anteater. The naturalist guides can show you everything through their high-powered spotting scopes much of which you would be sure to miss on your own. Easy-paced hike is enjoyable for all ages. Don’t forget your camera because the guides can get you great shots through their scopes if you don’t have super zoom capabilities on your camera. Includes drink and snack.

Day 4: Relax on Beach and explore the grounds or Manuel Antonio beaches. Visit the butterfly gardens.

Day 5: Today you will go on the area’s ultimate wildlife observation tour via motorized boat in the Damas Mangroves, includes a delicious hot lunch. (L) Time of departure is determined by the days tidal chart so please call from your hotel at least one day prior to day of tour to reconfirm pickup time.

Day 6: Saddle up with your guide and traverse through nature on horseback. You will stop at the Tocori Waterfall, so wear your suit and bring a towel along if you want to take the plunge. This tour is perfect for all ages. You will be picked up at around 8 AM. Hot Typical Lunch following the tour. (B, L)

Day 7: Let’s not forget you’re on vacation. Relax and soak in some rays, or if you want to add something more, ask our agents what other tours are available. Don’t feel like relaxing? There’s plenty of adrenaline on the Rio Savegre or other optional tours available in the area.

Day 8: Check out of your hotel early and head overland to San Jose International airport and your return home — transportation is not included in case you prefer to drive yourself, but our agents will be happy to assist you in booking a transfer. (B)
