Description

Hit the Monkey Trail! Ride along on your own ATV or share one with a friend if you don’t want to drive or don’t have a license. Guides start by giving you clear instructions on how to drive the ATV’s and providing safety gear before taking off on the back roads into the Guanacaste hillsides. Pass by melon fields, search for monkeys, birds and other wildlife and make a stop at a beautiful waterfall when road conditions permit.

What to expect:

You will explore the mountain areas and dry forest region surrounding the Monkey Trail. Experienced guides take you on a Pura Vida style adventure, through winding roads and back trails of the famous jungle-covered mountains along Guanacaste’s Costa Rica’s Pacific coast.  Along the way you will be treated to breathtaking views from elevations of around 1200 feet. The unspoiled area is filled with wildlife and you might see many different species of birds, animals, and plants.

As you drive through the small towns in and around the area and you will pass commercial cantaloupe farms. And when weather and road conditions permit (generally early December through April), you will stop at the beautiful “Las Pilas” waterfall.  Guides will show you some of the century’s old farm houses so you can see how rural Costa Ricans lived.

Experienced guides will show you the back roads and hidden trails for two hours before returning to the tour start point.  Ask our agents about kid-friendly ATV tours for children ages 6+.
