“IN SEARCH OF THE QUETZAL” BIRDWATCHING TOUR
Includes Lunch
Departure 7 am – Duration 7 Hours
$125 Per Person

Tour Description: Situated among the mist-covered peaks of the Talamanca Mountains, Los Quetzals is Costa Rica’s newest national park, covering more than 12,000 acres of cloud forest. Named after the emerald and crimson quetzal, which can be spotted in great numbers year-round, the park also hosts a variety of trogons, hummingbirds, tanagers and other highland species. Much of the park is covered in aguacatillo trees (a relative of the avocado), the favorite food of the resplendent quetzal. The park’s terrain ranges from rugged mountains to glacial lakes, with varying altitudes and ecosystems. Oak and cypress trees are common in the paramo, or high-altitude ecosystem that covers portions of the park. We start driving early in the morning, thru Cartago, the namesake capital city is one of the oldest towns in the country. After 3 hours Nature walk with our Eco Adventures team guides, we will continue to restaurant Los Colibri’s, where we can enjoy of a fireplace and harmonious environment is the perfect way to savor the traditional and delicious Costa Rican cuisine, cooked on a firewood stove, surrounded by exuberant vegetation and pristine habitat.

Sublimely beautiful Costa Rica has something for everyone. The treats range from exciting adventure to leisurely relaxation, and everything in between that we can add to your diving package. Furthermore, tourists can sample the laid-back national lifestyle that ticos (the name the Costa Ricans call themselves) refer to as ‘Pura Vida’ – ‘pure life’: no stress, no hassle. All this, combined with unsurpassed natural beauty and a developed and accommodating tourist industry, makes Costa Rica a wonderful place to visit and vacation.
